March 21^st through June 21^st – Pick up your FREE Packet of Zinnia Seeds at Zion Township, Zion City Hall, the Zion Park District or the Zion-Benton Public Library!

Last week of May through mid-June – After the chance of frost has past, get your Zinnia seeds and plants in the ground! Plant them in your front yard to prepare to enter the Best Zinnia Yard Contest!

Months of June and July – Water your Zinnia seeds! Enter the Zinnia and Monarch Coloring Contest sponsored by Culvers and the Zion-Benton Public Library! Open to ALL ages! Awards given out at the Zinnia and Monarch Festival.

Month of July – NOMINATE your yard or another that you love HERE! Make sure there are Zinnias in the display to qualify!

End of July – October – Check out and take advantage of the BUZ Butterfly and Cut Flower Garden across from the Zion Train Station.  Bring a vase and fill it with your favorite Zinnias for FREE!

Third Weekend in August – Come out for the Zinnia and Monarch Festival held at the Zion Park District Bandshell, 2400 Dowie Memorial Drive from 1-5pm. Contests you can enter include: Cut Flower Contest, Photo Contest, Poster Contest, Costume Contest, and maybe a Bull-riding, Donut Eating, Custard Eating and a Watermelon Eating Contest too! – see the website for details on all contests!
